The Village

Another exciting development is a planned innovative shopping experience to replicate an authentic European village that will share the spectacular cliff-top view of Lake Travis alongside the legendary Oasis Restaurant. Austinites and travelers from around the world, as well as Texas, revere this famous lakeside sunset vantage point. This project is designed to honor all that the Oasis has become to its devotees. The design extends the eclectic nature of the Oasis with an environmentally-sensitive approach.

The project will use recycled materials and environmental building practices to apply for LEEDS Platinum certification for sustainable building.* A water tower will capture and filter rainwater used for irrigation, way-finding lighting will be powered by solar energy and locally-supplied materials and landscaping elements will minimize shipment of non-local supplies to the site.

Local architect, Dick Clark, is collaborating to design the village, which features natural local stones and woods incorporated into each unique central building. You'll discover outdoor sculpture gardens created by local artists, water falls, grottos and scenic outlooks as you stroll along winding walkways amidst a variety of interesting shops. The entire project design is intended to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature preserve and highlight one of the most spectacular and inspiring views in this part of the world. Home-grown Austin boutiques and restaurants will feature a variety of local products. The plan includes a world-class spa, fitness center and limited office space.

*LEEDS Platinum certification is recognized as the highest designation attainable for "green" builders and developers.
